link to symon productions site Robyn Symon of SYMON PRODUCTIONS, INC. is a two-time Emmy award-winning writer/producer who is quickly becoming known in the industry as the “transformational” filmmaker, putting a spotlight on people who are making a difference in the world. A former TV news reporter, Robyn wrote and produced the national PBS documentary series “Voices of Vision”, hosted by NPR’s Scott Simon focusing on the work of non-profit organizations with stories on CARE, The Autism Society, combating human rights violations against women in West Africa to China’s looming “fast food” health crisis. While on staff at PBS based in Miami, Robyn also wrote and produced the series “Florida!” which aired for six seasons on The Travel Channel. For the Teaching Learning Network (TLN), she wrote and produced the series “Health and Family” with Joy Philbin, a multi-platformed educational health series sponsored by the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies including broadcast on Discovery Health Network and CTV in Canada, DVDs and VOD internet-based health series also broadcast on the Discovery Health Network.

In 2007, Robyn debuted in the indie arena, producing and directing the feature documentary“Transformation: The Life and Legacy of Werner Erhard” about one of the most controversial cultural figures of the human potential movement. At its New York premiere, “Transformation” broke the box office record during its first week run. The film was acquired for No. American distribution by Screen Media Films and is currently touring art house theaters around the world.

In 2008, Robyn wrote and produced the documentary,“Hedy and Yumi: Crossing the Bridge” about a holocaust couple who have turned their loss into a global mission to create a ‘culture of connection.’ In 2009, Robyn produced the documentary YES: Young Entrepreneur’s Society, One Week Job and most recently she completed production on two web series for www.liiv.com. Symon is currently producing several projects including a film on two-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee SOMPOP Jantraka who is on a mission to prevent young girls from entering Thailand’s sex trade and a documentary/series about child caregivers called GROWNUP Kids.

A former TV news reporter for network affiliates, KBMT, KJAC-TV and KLBJ in Texas, Robyn has been honored with numerous national awards including two Emmys for writing and producing short documentaries; 3 National Telly Awards; 2 NABJ awards, two Associated Press and UPI honors for news reporting.
